Winchester Super X Shotshell Reviews
Bad Winchester Super X shotgun ammo
Excited for finally getting to hunt doves in what has seemed like FOREVER, I went to Academy and bought a case of Winchester Super X, 1oz, 12 gauge shells. I haven’t shot anything but buckshot or slugs in the last 15+ years
(high brass), and saw the new (brass) nickle plated junk only went about a 5/16 of an inch up the plastic, I was skeptical
.
Then I went hunting, and every so often, the new shells wouldn’t eject from my shell friendly Remington 870 Express magnum? WTH?
I thought maybe my gun needed cleaning?
So after the first morning I gave her a good cleaning and oiling.
That evening,,, no change
, about every 4th or 5th shot I had to force the pump down with extreme effort. I’ve been trying to shoot this crap for about 3 weeks and I’m getting more and more frustrated.
So I bought a 100 pack of Federal 1.25 oz and they worked flawlessly.
Now I have 6 boxes of Winchester crap loads and I’m wondering what to do?
Most stores won’t take ammo back, and after about an hour and a half of trying to find out anything on Winchester’s web site, I’m just shy of digging a hole and burying this junk and writing this off as lesson 1437, in my logbook of mistakes learned in my life.
Anyone have any ideas?
